HOW TO CHANGE TECHNICAL INTERN TRAINING PROGRAM VISA OR STUDENT VISA TO SPECIFIED SKILLED WORKER VISA (特定技能) IN JAPAN?

At this moment, we have some information to convert your current Technical Intern Training Program visa or student visa to a Specified Skilled Worker visa:

If you are currently Technical Intern who has stayed in Japan for more than 2 years and 10 months already with the visa, here is some information for you. Find a new company that hires you or ask your current employer to change your residency status to Specified Skilled Worker.
The company that will hire you, will proceed with the change of your residency status.
During the process, you need to submit your completion certificate of Technical Intern Training Program level 2 and the certification of technical exam number three or a recommendation letter from the company for which you worked as Technical Intern Training. (If you cannot submit certification of technical exam number three or a recommendation letter from the company, let your new company knew that).
During the process, you need to take a medical check (the result will be shared with the Immigration Service Agency of Japan).

If you are Indonesian: Register your information on SISKOTKLN, the Indonesian government’s official system, to manage Indonesian labor forces working abroad. After you receive an ID from SISKOTLN, you should do the overseas worker registration at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo. If you complete the procedure at the embassy, a recommendation letter will be sent to you by them. Please submit it to your employer, because they are going to use the document in the process to change your residence status.

If you are Cambodian: You have to ask Cambodian agencies that are authorized by the Cambodian government. You can find authorized agencies from the following list published by the Japanese government. They will send you a recommendation letter for the Japanese Immigration Service Agency. After then, please hand it to your new employer. They will submit it to Immigration Service during the process to change your residence status.

If you are Nepali: At the moment, please going back to Nepal once to get permission to work in Japan as a Specified Skilled Worker from the Department of Japan in the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security of the Government of Nepal. After you get the permission letter, please come back to Japan again, and you can finally start working with the Specified Skilled Worker visa.
If you are currently a student who has stayed in Japan (with a student visa, not a short-stay visa) and holds the JLPT N4 certificate, here is some information for you, this flow is for those who live in Japan now.

Take the technical examination of the industry you want to work in. you can find your industry who fit with your background and skill-set from the 14 industries (check-in which industry you want to work from here)
In addition, you need to take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). It would be best if you achieved at least an N4 level to get a Specified Skill Worker visa.
The company that hired you, will proceed with the change of your residency status.
During the process, you need to submit your certificate of technical examination and JLPT certificate.
