①Introduction
— Could you please introduce yourself?
Biplob: I am Biplob from Bangladesh. I have completed my graduation and post-graduation in information communication engineering.Subsequently, I worked for a Japanese offshore company in Bangladesh. While working there, I completed a couple of projects, and one of my clients, who appreciated my work, invited me to join his company in Japan. After working there for a year, I joined a car auction company and around that time, I was interviewed by this company. In 2016, I joined Macareux Digital to work with different technologies.
②Inspired by Japan’s Lifestyle and Opportunities: Decision to Work in Japan
— What made you decide to come to Japan?
Biplob: The main reason is that I got an offer from a Japanese client. In addition, living and working in Japan is a dream not only for engineers but for everyone. Japan has always been a dream destination for us, offering a better lifestyle, greater security, and higher salaries.
---③Making a Career Choice in Japan: Decision to Join Macaruex Digital
— Why did you choose Macareux Digital?
Biplob: The main reason I chose this company was its potential for future growth, both for the company and for myself. If I had stayed at the car company, I thought my skills would not grow, even though I was doing well. However, here I can work with different technologies, learn new things, and continue developing my skills. Of course, a good salary was also an important factor. Now, I've been working here for more than 8 years, and mainly because of the team. The working environment, the flexibility, the cooperation—everything is excellent.
④Finding Fulfillment in Growth, Innovation, and Teamwork
— What do you enjoy the most about your job?
Biplob: I enjoy coding and love developing new things. Here, I have the freedom to fully use my expertise. Also, as I mentioned earlier, I really like my team members. They are very friendly to me and the team environment is great.
Risa: Is your team international?
Biplob: Yes, now there are members from four countries: Bangladesh, Myanmar, Brazil, and Russia.
Risa: I see. How many members are on your team?
Biplob: It depends on the project, but there are twelve members in total.
Risa: It seems you can communicate with all team members. That's great. How have your job and role changed over the past 8 years?
Biplob: Yes, I joined the company as a full-stack engineer, so at the beginning, I worked on both front-end and back-end tasks, including SAR-related work. Since I mainly enjoy back-end tasks, I now focus on them most of the time. As for my position, I became a senior engineer after working as a full-stack engineer and now I'm leading a couple of teams.
---⑤Rewarding Experiences that Drive Motivation at Macareux Digital
— When do you feel a sense of accomplishment in your work?
Biplob: The most rewarding thing is the fact that my boss trusts me. Every standard, such as the direction we take and how the coding should be done, is always discussed with me. That is a great honor for me.
Risa: That motivates you to try harder on the project, learn new things, and contribute to your career development.
Biplob: Yes, when he believes in me and trusts me, it creates a positive vibe that pushes me to do my best and improve myself.
Risa: That's great. What language do you usually use when communicating with your team members?
Biplob: Nowadays I try to communicate in Japanese, but if it goes beyond our ability, we switch to English.
Risa: How did you improve your Japanese?
Biplob: I improved mostly by speaking because it was necessary. For instance, when you go to the hospital and the doctor can't speak English, that is a big problem for me. Because of that, I started learning Japanese. Now my company sponsors Japanese lessons, and we have a teacher who comes every week.
Risa: I see. Did you take any JLPT tests?
Biplob: Yes, I passed N5 but was not able to pass N3.
⑥Building a New Life in Japan
— How do you spend your private time?
Biplob: I like watching movies, reading technical blogs, traveling, driving, and spending time with my kids.
Risa: Sounds interesting! Where have you traveled recently?
Biplob: Recently, I went to Saitama to see the illumination of artificial ice at a place called Ashigakubo. Some of my friends, who are from Bangladesh and now live in Gunma, also visited me in Tokyo, so I showed them around.
Risa: Nice. So you have friends from your home country in Japan?
Biplob: Actually, I didn’t know them back in Bangladesh — we became friends after I came to Japan. I’ve been able to make a lot of friends here.
Risa: That’s great! Do you usually spend your free time with your family too?
Biplob: Yes, I moved to Japan with them. They’re both in elementary school.
Risa: That must have been a big decision. Did you face any challenges when moving to another country?
Biplob: There weren’t many barriers, but since it was a new environment, I decided to come alone first and bring my family after everything had settled down. I was able to do that because my company supported me from the beginning.
Risa: How does your family feel about Japan now after 8 years?
Biplob: They enjoy it a lot. My family loves Japan very much. My kids want to visit their grandparents, but they don't want to go back—they want to settle down here in Japan.
---⑦From Trust to Confidence: Evolving with the Company
— What aspects of this company are you proud of?
Biplob: One thing that I am really proud of is the trust my boss places in me. He gives me the opportunity to lead several teams and take on many important responsibilities. That level of trust and recognition means a lot to me.
Risa: What kind of challenge would you like to take on within the company?
Biplob: I would like to challenge myself by implementing new ideas or projects. As a career goal, I want to keep improving my skills and take on more impactful work — contributing not only to my personal growth but also to the company’s growth.
⑧Advice for the Next Generation: Living, Working, and Thriving in Japan
— Do you have any message for Macareux Digital candidates?
Biplob: Those who speak only English can join, but they have to be highly skilled. Those with even basic Japanese skills will be preferred. I would advise candidates to improve both their language and programming skills. Share your code on GitHub and contribute to open-source projects so that others can see your work as a programmer.
Risa: Any message for people thinking of coming to Japan or developing their career in Japan?
Biplob: If you're planning to come to Japan, I recommend starting to learn Japanese as early as possible. It will help you not only in daily life but also in building your career. To work in Japan, having at least JLPT N4 or N3 level can make a big difference.
Risa: Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and insights today. It was truly a pleasure speaking with you, and I believe your story will inspire many readers!
