Japanese Employee Perks and Benefits

To mitigate risks associated with unsatisfied employees, Japanese companies offer a range of welfare and benefits, known as "福利厚生" (fukurikousei).These encompass housing support, family benefits, and child support.

#1 Mandatory Benefits

This category acts as the legal baseline for all employee welfare benefits, as mandated by the Japanese government. It is illegal if a company doesn't provide these benefits. Companys partly pay these social welfare for employees.  These benefits also apply to your dependents(e.g family). 

Health Insurance

Health insurance covers medical expenses, and employee pensions provide benefits for old age and disability.

Labor standard laws

Labor standards laws ensure decent working conditions and provide paid leave and minimum wage protection. Companies are also obligated to provide employees with maternity and paternity leave.

Unemployment Insurance

Unemployment insurance provides financial support in the event of unemployment; these programs enable employees to work and maintain a secure livelihood.
